Copy Cat
Copycat recipes mimic popular dishes you find at your favorite restaurants and coffee shops, ice cream stores and fast food joints. The great thing about copycat recipes? Not only are they familiar favorites, but openings for improvement await.
The Best Copycat Recipes
The best copycat recipes echo exactly what you love about the original. Then, it makes it cheaper and better. A Starbucks Medicine Ball offers a soothing yet invigorating tea, but making one for pennies without having to drive out and deal with a highly caffeinated barista? That is worth its weight in gold.
Top Secret Copycat Recipes
Well, since I am sharing these recipes, I guess the secret is out. But, half the fun is figuring out how to reverse engineer the original recipe. Trying to recreate the McDonald’s filet o’ fish took a few tries. I had to figure out how to make those steamed buns. Getting the right frozen fish stick cakes, the cheese, the sweet tartar sauce. It all had to come together.
You be the judge, I think it is pretty darn close.
Copy Cat Recipes Hooters
Depends, but sometimes I think you can even improve on the original. Hooters of course is known for its… ahem… wings. But I actually think using an air fryer for a copycat Hooters wings version makes them less greasy yet equally delicious.
Dessert And Sweets Recipes
Another popular type of food to copy are desserts and sweets. If you have ever driven back from a Dairy Queen saying “I should’ve made this at home” then you know what I am talking about. So you might like the apple pie blizzard copycat.
Or, perhaps you want an even better version of a Twix bar… Where you control the chocolate and the caramel!
P.F Changs Copycat
Sometimes you just love a dish at a favorite restaurant, and wish you knew the recipe. The Mongolian beef at P.F Changs has been a family favorite since forever. So, of course, I had to figure it out.
But, sometimes that means hitting up my friends at other blogs, like Aunt Bees, to get her version. Great recipes are meant to be shared!
Copycat Bisquick
A copycat recipe might also just be the base ingredients to make all sorts of things. Knowing how to make your own homemade Bisquick mix comes in handy - because Bisquick works as the basis for everything from pancakes to cinnamon rolls to biscuits, and so much more.
It takes the measuring and guesswork out of so many recipes. Great to have on hand or be able to whip together on a moment's notice.
Taco Bell Copycat
Taco Bell copycat recipes has to be one of the most popular inspirations for copycats. This might be due to them constantly dropping popular items then bringing them back. You never know when it might be your last chance to get one. Nothing worse than getting up to the drive through ordering and finding out the reason you showed up isn’t offered anymore.
Taco Bell pizza is a good example. But do you remember the Enchirito?
The Sincerest Form Of Flattery
Making copycat recipes doesn’t mean you are uninspired. Nothing wrong with paying respects to the dishes we all know and love. Great food and drink recipes are meant to be shared, just like love and kindness!
