Ingredients Needed To Make This Five Bean Baked Beans

  • Paisley Farm Five Bean Salad – I used one jar of the Paisley Farms Five Bean Salad, drained.
  • Bacon – A few slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled. Bacon adds loads of flavor to these baked beans.
  • Ketchup – Ketchup adds a sweet and sour flavor to the beans. 
  • Molasses – This typical baked beans ingredient adds a deep sweetness. 
  • Brown sugar – Light brown sugar or dark will add more sweetness. 
  • Worcestershire sauce – A touch of Worcestershire sauce to complement the sweetness of the molasses and brown sugar. 
  • Dijon mustard -A touch of Dijon helps to balance the sweet and savory flavors.
  • Seasonings:  I added a touch of paprika and garlic powder for more flavor. 

How To Prepare This Homemade Five Bean Baked Beans Recipe

This bean bake can easily be made in a slow cooker or crock pot for some hands-off cook time. You can also use a cast iron Dutch oven and place it directly on the grill to cook up this classic side while you cook up the rest of your meal.  

First: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 

Second: Spray the bottom of a small casserole dish with non-stick spray.

Third: In a bowl combine all of the ingredients.

Pour into the prepared dish.

Fourth: Bake this five-bean baked beans casserole uncovered for 20 minutes. 

Fifth: Serve hot.

If you have leftovers of this filling dish let them come to room temperature and then store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Leftovers are great for lunch the next day.

  • 4 slices of Bacon cooked and crumbled
  • cup Ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons Molasses
