You know I’m not a jello fan at all. (Even jello shots!) But if you say it’s good, I might just try it. Also I have that EXACT same dish and holder in black. Greg makes his rotel and velveeta in it. 🙂

I love simple and easy, can’t wait to try this! I’m with you about all those other Jello Salads everyone makes, don’t touch them, I just move on to the rest of the wonderful food, frees up room on my plate, lol

I may try this. I have always loved cherries, especially cherry pie, but have found the canned cherry pie filling usually way to sweet for me. Use to like it–way back when –ahem –but guess as I got (not I won’t say it) ‘more set in my says’ (better) I use less sugar in my baking now. So now use either fresh cherries when available or the plain canned variety. So worth a try on your say so.

I grew up with cranberry jello – and old recipe from my gram – but I’m with you, I don’t love jello. But cherries look like a good addition, like the cranberry. And adds so much color to your table!

This looks great! And I love that it’s like pie, but no crust. We don’t need no stinkin’ crust. I’ll take a big bowl full with some fresh whipped cream, please!

I was hoping someone else would have asked this…..but what size can of cherry pie filling do you use? I will definitely be making this !!

Patti says
Wow, just made it, using Black Cherry Jello with canned Lite Cherry Pie Filling, so refreshing and delicious on a hot summer day.
Also made a sampling with Cool Whip added. Double wow,
Can’t wait to make it for grown daughters. We have always had Orange Jello salad made with cool whip and mandarin oranges. I’ve eaten it every holiday since thanksgiving, November of 1984. This new Cherry Jello will be a welcomed addition to the future holiday meals.

Hi….just wondering if this jellied salad is good with rolls and biscuits as part of a cold salad get together? Can you let me know?
Michaela Kenkel says
It’s a great salad in my opinion. 🙂 If you love cherry pie, you will like it! We love it with ham, but it’s great all on its own too!
Beth says
Would this be suitable to put in a pie shell? Is it firm enough to make as pie?
Michaela Kenkel says
It’s not firm enough for a pie shell. It’s a great salad though! 🙂
