FAQs about Air Fryer Donuts
- Can I make these doughnuts ahead of time? While they’re best served warm, you can make them up to 2 days in advance and store them in an airtight container.
- What if I don’t have a donut cutter? A small round cookie cutter or even a shot glass works perfectly for cutting the center holes.
- Can I use the air fryer tray instead of the basket? Yes, just make sure to arrange the donuts in a single layer and adjust the cooking time as needed.
Tips & Tricks
- Spray your air fryer basket with olive oil spray or coconut oil spray. Avoid traditional non-stick sprays as they are hard on your air fryer.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket – work in batches if needed.
- Watch the first batch carefully to determine the perfect cooking time for your air fryer, as they do cook differently.
- Place finished donuts on a cooling rack to prevent sogginess.
- Don’t discard the centers! Make donut holes by air frying for about 3 minutes.

Easy Air Fryer Biscuit Donuts
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 (16.3 ounce) can of Refrigerated Canned Biscuits
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ Tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 5 Tablespoons butter melted
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your air fryer to 360 degrees F.
- In a small bowl mix sugar and ground cinnamon together, set aside.
- Place each biscuit on a cutting board and using a small cookie cutter or biscuit cutter (approximately 1″ in diameter) cut the hole in the donut.
- Lightly coat the inside of your air fryer with either olive oil spray or coconut oil spray. Refrain from using a traditional non-stick spray like pam in your air fryer, as it can harm it.
- Air fry the donuts first. You may need to do these in batches, based on the size of your air fryer basket. Place the donuts in a single layer in your basket, taking care they do not touch.
- Air fry for 5 minutes.
- Brush the outside of the hot donut with melted butter with a pastry brush and immediately roll it in the cinnamon sugar.
- To air fry the donut holes, use the same process, and air fry for about 3 minutes.
- Serve immediately. They are best when they are warm.
