These mini monkey bread muffins are the perfect snack for the holidays or anytime.
To me, nothing is more perfect to describe the scent of the holidays than cinnamon. Well, unless it’s bread — Cinnamon bead? I’m over the moon!
I think I can trace back my love of cinnamon to my Grandma Martin. She would have me come and stay with her as a girl, and we would spend the day together watching soap operas, teaching me to crochet and baking. I think I most remember her pies. Not that she didn’t bake LOTS of other things, but her pies were always my favorite. You see, whenever she made one, there was always “just enough” dough to make a cinnamon sugar pie crust. Sometimes I think I enjoyed that cinnamon crust as much as the pie.
Holidays were always special in our family. We had our family traditions, and they always stayed true. Sure the faces around the table would change as families grew and got bigger, but our menus were always the same. That rings true to how our family is now. There is no need to wonder what will be on the table for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, it’s the same every year, and it’s a meal we always look forward to.
Two things my kids love – cinnamon rolls and monkey bread – both contain that lovable ingredient, cinnamon. I have made monkey bread many many times, in a big portion, in my bundt pan. I thought, how fun would it be to make them individual sized.
I grabbed a can of Pillsbury Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls and got to work at a new creation.
I quartered each roll, and divided the pieces between 6 sections of a muffin tin. I topped them with brown sugar, toffee pieces and butter, and baked them up — in no time my kitchen was filled with the magnificent aroma of cinnamon. Nothing can bring kids to a kitchen faster than that!
One of our family traditions is snuggling up in our blankets in front of the fireplace watching marathons of Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. These monkey-muffins were the perfect snack while we cuddled around the television this past weekend. They couldn’t be any easier to make.
Just a quick trip to your local Walmart to grab a roll or two of Pillsbury Cinnabon Rolls and in minutes you are well on your way to a tummy that will be smiling full of these sweet cinnamon toffee muffins.
