Chocolate Marshmallow Pie Crust

My friend Gail gave me an old cookbook she found at a thrift store. It was written in 1981 and it’s called Cooking with Love & Cereal. The first evening I had it I thumbed through and looked at every recipe! I marked so many of them to try, but this Chocolate Marshmallow Pie Crust is the first of the bunch!

I bet when you look at it, you probably think I used Cocoa Krispies Cereal, don’t you? Welp, I would have thought the very same thing, but I didn’t.

The chocolate comes from Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, and I am here to tell you, it is what makes this crust so amazing! If you close your eyes and imagine how chocolate syrup tastes, that is the flavor of this pie crust, with the texture of a Rice Krispy treat.

Ice Cream Pie Crust

I have loads of frozen treats on my website. I love to make homemade ice cream, do you? There are so many flavor options, the ideas are endless!

Just like the flavors of ice cream, this pie crust could have countless flavor twists, too.  All you need to do is switch up the chocolate syrup

Caramel syrup, butterscotch, strawberry raspberry or even peanut butter ice cream syrup, would give this marshmallow pie crust a whole new taste and give it endless options for ice cream fillings.

Crust & Filling Ideas

My mind is spinning with ideas just talking about it! I filled my chocolate syrup version with vanilla bean ice cream, but it would be amazing filled with my Grape Nut Ice Cream , Cherry Chocolate Chip, or my Vanilla Caramel Swirl.  I think that a strawberry marshmallow crust would be awesome filled with Lemon or Peach Ice Cream.

Fill a butterscotch marshmallow crust with No-Churn Pumpkin Ice Cream or a raspberry marshmallow crust with Chocolate Ice Cream.  A peanut butter marshmallow crust would be over the top delicious with Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple Ice Cream or how about a caramel marshmallow crust with Almond Nougat Ice Cream or maybe Cinnamon Vanilla Bean?

The ideas are endless!
