How To: Make a PEEP Centerpiece

I have been making this Peep Centerpiece for years. They turn out a little different every time, and they are always the talk of the table.
I first made this Easter centerpiece from jelly beans and marshmallow Peep bunnies back in 2011. I had so many people ask how I made it, I decided to do a how to post, explaining just how to go about making one for your own table.
Here are the ones I made back then.
Last year at Easter, I made them again and took photos of them. I am just getting around to editing them and sharing them with you. It’s been a heck of a year so far!
What do I need to make a Peep Centerpiece?
- You’ll need a vase big enough to house the jellybeans, the Peep bunnies, and a small mason jar. Mine are 6″x 6″ square.
- Jellybeans
- 1 package of Marshmallow Peep Bunnies (16 bunnies)
- 1 pint-sized mason jar
- Easter grass (optional)
- Bouquet of flowers
Use what you have on hand, I have seen some cute ones in cylinder vases, too.
First, you will place the mason jar, filled with water about 2/3 of the way, in the center of the container. Loosely secure the lid.
It helps to keep the jelly beans out of the jar. You can place some Easter grass in the bottom if you want, but it’s not necessary.
Add in your jellybeans, there were about 2-3″ of them in the bottom for my size of container. You want to make sure when you place the bunnies inside that their ears don’t peek out above the top of the container.
Place the bunnies around the outside edge, on top of the jellybeans. I secured the jar in this one with some artificial grass.

How To: Make a Peep Centerpiece for your Easter Table
Equipment
- scissors
Materials
- 1 - 6 " x 6" square vase or something similar
- 16 Marshmallow Peep Bunnies
- 1 package of jellybeans
- 1 - large mixed bouquet of flowers
- 1 - pint sized mason jar
- easter grass optional
Instructions
- First, you will place the mason jar, filled with water about 2/3 of the way, in the center of the container. Loosely secure the lid.
- You can place some Easter grass in the bottom if you want, but it’s not necessary.
- Add in your jellybeans, there were about 2-3″ of them in the bottom for my size of container. You want to make sure when you place the bunnies inside that their ears don’t peek out above the top of the container.
- Place the bunnies around the outside edge, on top of the jellybeans. I secured the jar in this one with some artificial grass.
- Cut your bouquet of mixed blooms down to fit inside the mason jar. You want some of them to be shorter, which helps conceal the inside. And it’ll give it a fuller appearance.
- It doesn’t look like a lot of flowers, but it actually takes a pretty big bundle of them.
Hi Michaela!
LOVE this idea 🙂 The lilacs (my favorite flower) look absolutely adorable with the purple peeps.
