Make a simple syrup from sugar and water, toss the cranberries in it, let them set for one hour.  Gently toss them in granulated sugar.

Use as a garnish or fun sweet-tart treat.

Sugared Cranberries

Ingredients

  • 1 12oz package fresh cranberries
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar divided
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over medium heat dissolve 1 cup sugar into 1 cup water. Remove from heat.
  • Toss cranberries in the sugar-water until coated. Drain excess liquid.
  • Spread onto a rack to set for 1 hour.
  • Toss in remaining sugar to coat. Dry for 1 hour.
  • Tasty and make a beautiful garnish!
