Do you love peanut butter? So many people do! Every Tuesday on my facebook page this fall, I have hosted a “theme” day. I leave it up to my readers, via social media, to pick the “guest of honor.” This week it was Peanut Butter. It’s funny, the days I have these theme parties, I usually crave that item. Today is no different. That is where the idea of this Peanut Butter Puppy chow was born!
Some of the batch I added candy corn, like you see above. Something about that candy corn and the peanut…mmmm, it’s just so perfect. (think Pay Day bar)
Some of it I used just the Peanut Butter M & M’s like you see here below.
Anyway you make it, if you like peanut butter… or more like peanut butter cookies, you are going to swoon!
I ended up doing BOTH options for the stuff I made for my kids. Between the cereal, the peanut butter, the candy corn and M & Ms there are dry roasted salted peanuts covered, too!
I highly recommend you mix up a batch the first chance you get and make the Peanut Butter Lover in your life a nice treat!
Yes, it’s okay if that person is YOU!
- 1 (12.5 ounce) Box of Honey Nut Chex Cereal
- 5 squares almond bark
- 4 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
- 1 cup packaged Peanut Butter Cookie Mix
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 cup candy corn (optional)
- 1 cup Peanut Butter M&M's, optional, but I highly recommend them!
- 1 cup Salted Dry Roasted Peanuts
- Sprinkles (optional)
Pour cereal into a large bowl, add peanuts. Set Aside.
Combine sugar and cereal mix in a small bowl. Set Aside.
In your microwave melt almond bark and peanut butter together for 1 minute, stir, and continue to microwave for 30 second intervals if needed, until melted and you can stir it smooth.
Pour over the top of the cereal and peanuts and gently stir to combine. Take care to not break the cereal into bits.
Pour sugar mixture over cereal and gently stir to coat.
Add Candy Corn and M&Ms when cereal is cooled slightly.
Dust with sprinkles if desired.
