Every summer, the first week in July we take our family to Okoboji, Iowa and spend the week boating.

My kids, and hubby love to ski and wake board, and it’s such a fantastic family environment.  Lots to do, lots to see, and always a good place to eat when you feel like you have had enough of the sandwiches in the picnic basket for lunch.

One day, we stopped at one of our favorites, a restaurant called Bracco.

How fun is this bar at Bracco?  Swings instead of bar stools!! Here are my kiddos posing for a photo!

They have amazing shrimp tacos, and I couldn’t wait.  When the waitress came over we gave her our drink order and I ordered a Key Lime Fizz.  I loved it!!

When we came home my husband and I went on a mission to find Key Lime Rum.  I am here to tell you it’s not as easy as one would think.  There are so many flavors of rum, they I am sure the stores can’t carry them all.  I found it, though, at a local liquor store.

These Key Lime Fizz drinks are light and refreshing, and if you make them with Sprite Zero or a diet 7Up they are low in calories.

Want to make it just like this? stop by your local Sonic for a bag of ice!! I LOVE their ice, and it’s great with this drink!

I recently tried your key lime fizz and found it to be perfect for our 40th anniversary party. I would love to make a big batch of this for our party. I don’t even know where to begin , if someone could help me with this I sure would appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Elaine

    1. Hi,Elaine! First of all, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! 40 years is something to be proud of, and celebrate indeed!
As far as making these large batch, I feel like you wouldn’t be as happy with them. Once the soda is poured it will start to lose the bubbles over time. So I feel like a large batch would have flat soda.
If you were anticipating that everyone would be having one of these, you could add the rum to each glass, then simply top it with ice and soda as you served them. But as far as making a “pitcher” of them, I feel like they would lose their fizz.
