Snack mix made with wholesome ingredients full of cinnamon and apple flavors. Perfect for kids (AND Moms) on the GO! Includes FREE Printable!
It seems like summer just started, and in the blink of an eye, the lazy hazy days are a thing of the bittersweet past, and the kids are off to school and involved in ALL of their countless activities. I don’t know about you, but I spend A LOT of time in my car. It takes me a beat to get back in the groove of the “I need to be at school early for this.” Or “I need to stay late for that.” It seems I make multiple trips to the school every day, and one of the conversations we commonly have starts with “I’m STARVING!” or “What’s for dinner?”
I like to have easy and quick snack for the kiddos to grab after school, so they aren’t spoiling their dinner. Portable ones = EVEN BETTER! When I threw this one together, I knew it would be perfect for car trips between here and there, after school snacks, lunch box additions — even a bowl of it went to cheer practice with my daughter. The other great thing about this recipe?
All of the bonus box tops I clipped for my kids’ school with the products I used from General Mills and Walmart!
We are seasoned pros when it comes to clipping the box tops from the products we use all of the time. Box Tops for Education is one of America’s largest school earnings loyalty programs and has contributed over $525 million to participating schools since the launch of the program in 1996. Is your kids’ school one of the 80,000+ K-8 schools that participates? There are no stipulations on what the schools spend money on. Each box top is worth 10 cents to your school. That adds up FAST. I mean, look at these here, these are the ones we collected over our (very short) summer! This time of year though, look for the packages with the BONUS box tops … they contain 5 per box. Yes, 50 cents per item that goes directly to your school of choice. Grandparents, save these when you see them and let the grand kids take them to school — chances are they are having a contest right now in their classrooms to see who collects the most. Our kids have won everything from movie afternoons, to Pajama days, to ice cream socials for being the winning classrooms. Our school uses their funds for our P.E. and Computer departments.
So, grab some of these cereals the next time you are shopping and make this fun snack mix. Ideas for the mix:
* Teacher or Principal Gifts
* Gifts for friends of your children
* Fun little gifts for your Mom friends who too, value a portable wholesome snack
I am sharing the FREE Printable here with you, click on it, save it to your computer and print it in a 5×7 size. Fold it over and secure it to a sandwich or quart sized baggie.
Feel free to add your own spin to your snack mix — below you will find the amounts and items I put in mine, this made a 2 gallon zipered bag full! Plenty to eat and to share!
