Happy hour never tasted so good! If you are a fan of margaritas, especially strawberry margaritas, you are sure to love this Sauza Strawberry Margarita recipe! It’s our go-to sitting poolside in the summer, not only because of how tasty it is, but also because we love the convenience of the large-batch pitcher recipe. The margaritas and the fun keep flowing without interruption. (in moderation, of course) This particular margarita is a rocks recipe, but you could blend it and have a frozen strawberry margarita recipe just as easily. Where traditional margaritas have that salted rim, I prefer my strawberry margarita glass to have a sugared rim. I like to use the crystal sugar, it looks so pretty!

These recipes have been on my website since, 2016, and they are my go-to. The best strawberry margarita recipe in my opinion!

Strawberry Margarita Recipe

This is one of those recipes people ask for after the first sip. It’s quick, consistent, and has that perfect balance of sweet strawberry flavor with just enough citrus to be refreshing. You don’t need fresh berries or a blender, which means you can whip it up anytime with simple ingredients you might already have on hand. It’s easy to make ahead, easy to serve, and always a hit.

Ingredients for Strawberry Margaritas

You will find the complete measurements and instructions at the bottom of this post in the printable recipe card.

  • Sauza Signature Blue Silver Tequila – A clean, smooth tequila that lets the strawberry flavor shine without overpowering the drink. Silver tequila keeps everything light and crisp.
  • Triple Sec Liqueur – Adds that classic citrusy orange flavor that every good margarita needs. It balances the sweetness and ties everything together.
  • Strawberry Pucker Schnapps – This is where that bold strawberry flavor comes from. It gives the drink its signature sweetness and vibrant color without needing fresh fruit.
  • Sour Mix – Brings the sweet and tangy balance that makes margaritas so refreshing. You can use store-bought or homemade if you prefer.
  • Strawberries and Limes – fresh strawberries and limes are perfect for garnish and adding a colorful touch when serving.
  • Sugar (optional) – For rimming the glasses adds a little extra sweetness with each sip.

Tips for the Best Strawberry Margaritas

  • Chill your ingredients ahead of time so your drinks stay cold without getting watered down.
  • Taste and adjust if needed. If you like it a little less sweet, add a splash of fresh lime juice.
  • Serve in sugar-rimmed glasses for a classic margarita feel.
  • Use fresh garnishes to make it feel extra special without extra work.

How to Customize Your Strawberry Margarita Drink Recipe

  • Make it frozen: Blend the mixture with ice or frozen strawberries for a slushy-style frozen strawberry margarita. Using frozen fresh strawberries adds flavor and doesn’t water them down as ice would.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Swap sour mix for fresh lime juice and simple syrup for a more homemade flavor.
  • Lighten it up: Add a splash of club soda for a slightly lighter, bubbly version.
  • Make it stronger or milder: Adjust the tequila to your preference depending on your crowd.

FAQs

  • Can I make strawberry margaritas ahead of time? Yes! Mix everything and store it in the refrigerator. Add ice just before serving so it doesn’t get diluted.
  • Can I make this into a frozen strawberry margarita? Absolutely. Just blend the mixture with ice or frozen strawberries until smooth.
  • What tequila is best for strawberry margaritas? A silver tequila like Sauza works great because it has a clean, smooth flavor that doesn’t overpower the strawberries.
