What do I need to make Cheesy Brussels Sprouts Dip?

I made this dip all in one pan.  I used my small cast iron skillet, and prepped it on the stove, and then baked it in the same pan.  Because the holidays can be stressful enough without having to add more dishes, right?

Of course, if you want to serve it in a pretty casserole dish, that works beautifully, too.

Begin by cooking your bacon until it’s crispy.  Add it to the creamed mixture of mayo and cream cheese, and stir it in along with the mozzarella cheese.

Using the bacon grease in the same skillet, cook your garlic, onion and Brussels sprouts until the brown.

Stir them into the cheese mixture.

At this point, you have a decision to make.  Spread it back into your cast iron skillet, or into a pretty dish to bake it in.  I voted for the skillet because I am a fan of fewer dishes every time.

Cheesy Brussels Sprouts Dip with pita and bagel chips

I put a hot plate down and served it right from the skillet.  Cast iron stays warm for so long, it’s perfect! Pita chips and bagel chips were great for dipping, it would also be amazing on crostini, or inside a bread bowl.

I felt the flavors were so similar to spinach and artichoke dip.  The cheese is similar, and the taste the dill gives to the sprouts added that tang to the dip like artichokes do.

  1. I love brussels sprouts but never thought of using them to make a dip. Of course the addition of cheese and bacon makes everything better. I think this will be a hit at my holiday parties.

  2. This dip sure looks delicious! Do you think I can make it with “normal” brussels sprouts? I don’t think we have the dilled or any type of canned kind in Sweden… 🙁
