I had this Raspberry and Peach Superfood Smoothie for breakfast yesterday. After the first sip I knew I needed to snap a photo and share the recipe with you.
I have a bit of a confession to make. About two and a half years ago I lost a whole bunch of weight. In retrospect, it came off fairly quickly for me, but I worked it like it was my job. It was literally what I concentrated on for 4 months. I lost 40 pounds. I felt great, and I miss it.
You see, I have actually gained pretty much all of it back. I don’t feel well anymore, my back hurts, I’m tired. It pretty much sucks. See, I have a hard time balancing my love of cooking with my will power. When I lost the weight last time, I barely blogged the whole time. I dropped off the face of the earth pretty much. It’s hard to look at all of the food I look at every day and not want to make it and eat it! I have made a commitment to myself, and to a “team” that I am working with, to lose this again. To be healthy again.
(read my where I’ve been post here)
When I lost it, I was using a food journal, watching my fiber and calorie intake as well as water intake. I was exercising at least 30 minutes EVERY DAY.
Know that I am not only committed to this, but to keeping up with my 3 times per week posting of recipes for you. If you enjoy my recipes, don’t think I am going to start throwing tofu at you! I will still be posting the family friendly meals and fun cocktails, but know that I might be throwing a smoothie or a salad in the mix!
Know that I appreciate you being here with me, always!!
This smoothie was delicious, and surprisingly filling. (I typically have the reasoning that it isn’t really eating if you aren’t chewing) It had about 167 calories in it the way I prepared it, and 7 grams of fiber. Had I used unsweetened coconut milk, I could have reduced it even more.
A couple of months ago I shared these Frozen Triple Berry Lemonades with you, and they were super yummy, too. They had about 85 calories and 3 grams of fiber.
If you love smoothies, please give this a try and see what you think!! I would love your feedback!

This looks so yummy! Also, I am so proud of you for going back on your healthy plan AND keeping up the blog stuff! You know, along with being a WIFE and MOM of 4!!!! You are a SUPERWOMAN!
You are so sweet, my friend. It’s all a balancing act as you WELL know!
I am really grateful for this post from you! Two reasons…. I want to start trying more smoothies, and this sounds delicious. Secondly… I am on my first weight loss mission, and I am finding it hard to balance my healthy attempts as well as sharing the recipes that I love to share! I know balance will find it’s way, but reading this and knowing that I am not alone was very much needed!
Kris, thanks for taking to the time to tell me that I am not alone either!! I would love to hear what you are doing to maintain balance! IT’s so hard when I see all of my blogger friends yummy posts… I just want to EAT IT ALL!! 😉
Your smoothie looks like the perfect recovery drink after exercise. So easy to have frozen fruit available all year long. Love the chia seeds they are so healthful. YUM!
