Sugar Cookies in a Mug (no egg)

Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough:

  • 4 Tablespoons flour
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 Tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon multi colored sprinkles optional

For the Frosting:

  • 1 ½ Tablespoons butter softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon whole milk
  • 2 drops almond extract more or less to taste

Instructions

Make the Cookie Dough:

  • In an 8-ounce microwave-safe mug, melt the butter. (15 seconds)
  • Stir in the milk and extract until combined.
  • Mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder into the butter mixture until incorporated.
  • Fold in sprinkles.
  • Microwave the mug on high for 40 to 60 seconds, or until the cookie is firm but not hard.
  • Cool slightly before frosting.

Prepare the frosting:

  • Whisk softened butter in a small bowl until creamy.
  • Add the powdered sugar in a little at a time, creaming in each addition completely with the small whisk.
  • Add in the milk and the extract, and whisk until smooth.
  • Pipe or spread over the top of the cooled cookie and dust with more sprinkles if desired.
