Ingredients
3 1/2cupsflour
2teaspoonsbaking soda
1teaspoonsalt
1/2cupdark cocoa powder
1 1/2cupbuttersoftened
1 1/4cupgranulated sugar
3/4cupbrown sugar
2eggsroom temperature
1teaspoonvanilla
1/2cupmolasses
For rolling: chopped hazelnutssprinkles, chocolate jimmies, powdered sugar
Instructions
In a bowl, sift together: flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Set aside.
In your mixer, beat butter until light and fluffy. (about 3 minutes) Add in sugars, vanilla and eggs, mixing between each addition. Add molasses and beat until combined.
Gradually add sifted dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
Chill for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Roll dough into 1- 1 1/2 inch balls. Roll in hazelnuts, or the topping of your choice, and place on baking sheets, two inches apart.
Bake for approximately 10 minutes.
Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet and then remove parchment paper to a cooling rack. Cool completely.
